Curlew Reviews

The pods are perfect, spacious and clean. The setting is beautiful with easy walks to the viaduct. Our only niggle hence losing one star is that winterscales road from main road down to the pods is narrow just fit one car across, windy, hilly, at times with slopes either side and not many passing places. So if you're not a confident driver, this could cause you anxiety.
Excellent in every way. Stylish generously provisioned hot tub super clean lovely lighting in pod.
It was really lovely, quiet and well stocked with utensils and basics
Darren
Absolutely amazing stay at Curlew. Will definitely be returning!
What a lovely place to stay, had everything needed for a break away. A lot of places to explore within a 20 minute drive and a local pub and also train station within walking distance. Glorious views morning or night. Didnt get to see much of the place during the day as were busy wandering but clear moonlit starry sky at night from the hot tub and lovely sunrises. Hope to be back when the weather is better to do the Yorkshire three peaks at some point as its an ideal base to do this from. Would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you.
Lovely pod in a really beautiful setting. The pod was very well equipped, clean and very spacious, so we didn't feel on top of each other when bad weather kept us inside. There are plenty of great walk options directly from the pod or a short drive away, so it was perfect for us. We will definitely return!
Patricia
Beautiful pod, in a stunning position. We didn't have good weather during our stay though, which resulted in lots of muddy clothes. A communal washerdrier building would have been handy! But otherwise, lovely pod and we would love to return.
Neville
What a lovely week away, waking up and just look out of the window for the most beautiful view. This view Changes as clouds hit the peaks and change shapes. Walk a few steps and then view steam trains on the viaduct . The pods are like new and have everything you need.i have no hesitation to Highly recommend it as a place to stay
Claire
I loved how cosy the pods are and the views are stunning. I loved seeing the sheep brought back memories of living on a farm as a child. The pods were well thought out and fantastic value for money. We loved the hot tubs and won't forget our stay. Thank you .
Alison
We had the best stay at Curlew! The pod was so comfortable, it was so clean and just beautiful. The bed was really comfy! Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided which was a nice touch. The location was excellent we did the ingleton falls trail then it was only 20 minutes drive to the pod from there. We drove to ingleton village for food and shops etc it was handy and not far at all. The hot tub was nice after a long walk! It was very quiet on the site, the guests respected the rules so it was just lovely for everyone. The pod was next to a working farm but this didnt bother us, fencing around the pod and hot tub gave us privacy. We absolutely loved our stay at Curlew it really made our wedding anniversary celebrations extra special! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable stay after beautiful long walks in the area.
Lovely accommodation with spectacular views. Feels nice and private whether you are sat on the decking or in the hot tub. plenty of space for 2 people. Lovely big shower too! So relaxing, would definitely recommend.
Jonathan
Had a very relaxed and peaceful stay. Good communication from the owner before arrival which made it easy to find the location and get settled in. Amazing views from the porch and the pods are in a great location if you are wanting to walk the 3 peaks. Spacious and clean inside and plenty of seating outside with table and chairs and a bench. And of course you have the hot tub. Everything in the kitchen you need if you are cooking some nights. A footstool for the living area would have been handy as I am 6ft 1 and it's nice to get my feet up when watching tv. I used the stool from the bedroom which helped with the comfort of sitting on the sofa. Also a parasol for outside. We were there recently with the hot weather and eating outside on the bench and sitting in the hot tub, there's no shade. Either a bolted down around the hot tub or one you could move freely and could be put away in the porch area when not in use. Will definitely stay again.
One of the best pods we've ever stayed in, we will definitely be coming back
We had a great 2 nights stay. The pods were excellent. Everything was at a high standard and location was excellent too. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.
Lovely well equipped pod. Even felt cosy in storm Eowyn! The hot tub is welcoming to come back to after a long hike. Wonderful location with Whernside as a backdrop.
The property was best place to live in during holiday . All facilities available inside and outside was great . And private garden , the view outside from the property door was amazing . My family enjoyed so much . The environment was very friendly
Debbie
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Curlew was nice and warm with everything we needed. The sheep were entertaining as were the ducks that joined them at feeding time! The hot tub was fantastic especially on the nights we could star gaze. The only thing worth mentioning is that if youre not in a 4x4 the road to the pod is single track and doesnt have any passing places, it put our reversing skills to the test a couple of times. Diane the host was friendly and always promptly answered our messages. There was a welcome pack of tea, coffee biscuits and cake too which was a lovely touch.
The property itself was absolutely beautiful. Very well maintained and had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. I feel the site itself need to be better sign posted from the main road as it's very easy to miss the entrance. Also I feel that each POD should have its own allocated parking or the car park should be slightly bigger. Overall our stay was brilliant and the PODS were excellent. Very comfortable, clean and tidy with everything you could need! I would definitely recommend and we hope to visit again next year.
Absolutely loved my time here, the accommodation was beautiful and immaculately clean with everything we needed. The hot tub was fantastic and sitting in there on a night time watching the stars was a wonderful experience. We will definitely return in the future to explore more of the surrounding areas. Thank you for a wonderful break away from the everyday norm xx
Matthew
The location and property are fantastic. Isolated with beautiful views of the countryside and lots of sheep. The pod has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Only thing I would add is some extra shelvingstorage for clothes etc in the bedroom. Other than that I cannot fault anything, we will definitely be returning.
Rachael
Excellent place to stay, had everything we wanted and more. The best quality and standard of pod I've ever stayed in.
Charlotte
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Curlew! The cabin was cosy, and modern, with such fab facilities. The shower was incredible, and we both slept amazing as the bed was so comfy! Both TVs allow you to sign into your subscription accounts which is great. The WiFi is super quick. The kitchen offers everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was fab, and we loved that there is already logs and firelighters provided for you to use for the fire outside. We visited the station inn pub which is such a short walk from the cabin, and the walk en route was lovely, so quiet and beautiful. The only thing that we would suggest is with there being a hot tub, it would be great to have been offered dressing gowns and slippers. I know this is something you can bring yourself, but it would be a really nice touch. Overall would 100 recommend to anyone who is looking to escape from it all, and relax!
Amazing accommodation in fantastic peaceful surroundings, absolutely spotless and everything there to make for a restful break. Easy proximity for walkers and the hot tub was perfect. Will definitely be back, we loved it!
Stephanie-rae
We really enjoyed our time in the Curlew cabin the amenities were great and the cabin was very cosy. The hot tub was a fab feature to be able to relax and stargaze from we were lucky enough to even see the Northern Lights during our stay! The hosts were easy to contact and very hospitable. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get out and explore this beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales, given good proximity to local landmarks and a lovely place to relax after long walks.
Yvonne
Had a lovely time the pod was exactly as was advertised clean comfortable and perfect for the two of us would definitely stay again. The views were amazing.
We had a wonderful stay at Curlew! A home away from home being surrounded by sheep. Absolutely stunning location and beautiful pods provided the perfect mini getaway, walking to the pub was a bonus and Diane was so helpful and generous!
Hannah
The pods are beautifully clean and stocked. The location is so lovely and well miss waking up to that view. Check in and out is very easy and youre left to enjoy your break which is appreciated. Things we werent expecting is that its next to a working farm so you do get some noise from that early in the morning. Its on a main walking route so people quite often walk past and if youre sat out front they can see you. So too people in the other pods, its a little less private than I thought. There was a constant sound in the main bedroom, like a boiler constantly on. I couldnt work it out if it was from the hot tub, the utility room attached to the back or something else. None of these things put us off and we would definitely go back.
Richard
Enjoyable 3 night stay at Curlew in Yorkshire Dale's. Lovely spot and stunning views. Despite the shocking weather we still managed a dip in the hot tub and sat on the front decking for a few hours. WiFi was good so plenty to keep us entertained. Hosts were very responsive. Nice pub close by 15min walk. Highly recommended. Would have been 5 stars if the weather was better
Lindsey
We loved our stay here. The pod was clean, well laid out and had modern touches such as Bluetooth speaker and colour change mood lighting. The views were amazing especially Ribblehead Viaduct which was only a short walk from the pod. We would love to visit again.
ia Caroline
Beautiful location, pod was clean and so so comfy. Great location to head out on the walks and visit the caves and a easy 10mins walk under the viaduct to the pub. Maybe more signage on the roads as it can get a little confusing finding the pods for the first time. Overall a great relaxing stay!! Want to be back there now!!!
Joshua
I booked a weekend stay for my girlfriends birthday. We were the first ever guests to stay at these glamping pods which was such an honour! The pod was immaculate and very spacious there were fitted Bluetooth speakers and led lights, which were such a nice touch! The hot tub was perfect, private and was also cleaned and tested every morning. There were also complimentary extras like hot chocolate, biscuits and marshmallows etc. Considering being located in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales, the WiFi connection was also extremely fast. The owners are so lovely, helpful and very attentive. They went above and beyond, providing leaflets for local tourists attractions and recommended restaurants for us to visit. I would say that the fact we are still thinking about this place 7 months after visiting proves how memorable and incredible our stay here was. Thank you for the hospitality and we look forward to coming back very soon! From your first guests, Josh & Courtney
