Shepherd's View Reviews

Darren
Perfect escape for me the wife and the dogs. However ended up being me and just one dog, other dog got hit by a car and broke a leg. I Loved it!. Simply stunning! Just what i needed. Definately want to come back with wife and both dogs. The view is stunning, the enclosed garden is perfect to forget dogs escaping and the stars are captivating from the hot tub at night. Local butcher and bakers worth a shout. Loved every minute.
Malcolm
Absolutely lovely can't fault anything will definitely book with you again
Darren
Great location and property. ....slightly let down by the bed.....not enough pillows and the bed needs a new mattress.
Michelle
The site and the shepherds hut was lovely. Very dog friendly. We really enjoyed our stay
We absolutely loved our stay and everything exceeded expectations the only thing we wanted to comment on was that the deal around the main door let in quite a big draft meaning that the temperature of the place was cooler than we wouldve liked.
Lovely stay,so relaxing, thank you for the views
We would have liked information about the fire pit. We did not know if we could use it nor where we could get wood & firelighters etc. We saw others using it and wouldve liked to check if we could too.
Patrick
My partner & I went away for a week with our 2 dogs. Very easy to find the site but slight problem finding the property as it was dark when we arrived some passers by pointed us to where we needed to be the name of the property was on each of the gates. Would have been helpful if there was a small mini map at the entrance. Small problem with mould but this was sorted with a quick clean and didnt come back. There was a hell of a lot of condensation on the windows and on the wall where the bed was lifted up in the day. If the heating was left on and a window was left open then this would be less of an issue which is what we did. The microwave oven had the markings rubbed off, which meant getting used to it took some time. The entrance door was slightly warped and let in a bit of a draft. It wasnt a major issue for us. We did try to ring one or two of the owners to make them aware of this, but never got an answer or a reply. These few things didnt impact our stay we thoroughly loved the property, the views and surrounding area.
Yes all good. Only thing I would mention which isnt really their responsibility is, it would been nice if the gaps in the fencing are smaller as we couldnt let our little frenchie of lead incase she could get through the gap. Apart from that lovely few nights away and the hot tub was a nice feature to have.

Angela
Beautiful scenery, well kept and maintained, couldn't fault cleanliness. If I want to be picky! An iron would have been great! My fault for forgetting to take ours! We would definitely recommend, we had a lovely time, it is really clear to see how well the area is maintained, absolutely beautiful surroundings
Claire
The only problem we had was actually finding the place despite putting the address in numerous times on the sat nav . No actual sign outside of where the property was .
Outstanding, excellence

Shepherds View is in an amazing location with outstanding views. The hut was as described and done to a very high standard. It had really great facilities and everything we needed for a short stay, close to the local town of Rhayader and other beautiful locations such as The Elan Valley and the Red Kite Feeding Station which was incredible. Unfortunately, there was one major issue which was the number of flies all over the outside and inside of the hut. On arrival we opened the door and were greeted by a LOT of flies and sticky fly traps were provided which made us realise it was clearly a problem. A lot of our time when at the hut was spent trying to get rid of flies which was really unpleasant and they could easily land on cups, plates etc. We couldn't leave the windows or door open during the day as they would quickly fly in which meant that the hut was very hot and stuffy. We were lucky to have good enough weather that we could sit outside and we think its likely that the flies were attracted to the heat from the hut as in the sun. There was an issue with our hot tub on the first day but had a quick response from Gemma to let us know that an engineer would be round the next day. We felt that a message or note could have been left for us so that we knew on arrival as we were quite disappointed. There was hot water in the hot tub but it was too hot to sit in for any length of time and actually enjoy. The problem was fixed the following day and the maintenance guy was really helpful despite not speaking any English. We really loved the hot tub once it was working properly. The hut was perfectly placed to view a gorgeous sunset over the hills and it was very peaceful and quiet. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Wales and would love to visit the area again.
Awesome place! Amazing views!
Elaine
Compact, pretty place to stay for the weekend. Stunning views across the countryside, beautiful to watch the glorious sunset from the hot tub. I suggest you take either disposable BBQ to sit inside the firepit or a rack to use in the firepit so you can cook outdoors.
We loved it. The views were stunning, the property was cute and clean and welcoming, the facilities were great. We just had a nice relaxed little get away. And we will definately be back
We had an amazing stay here! Absolutely adorable little hut, great facilities and plenty to do in the area. We will definitely be coming again!
The best place we have ever visited. From start to finish it was great. We will be back.
One word amazing! !!! Loved every second
The place was amazing. Space, facilities, hottub and view it was all perfect. Cant wait to come back!
Absolutely beautiful location and a very quirky, compact and amazing accommodation. The views were stunning as to were watching the red kites. Theres plenty to do nearby and some excellent pubs just down the road. Highly recommended
The shepherds hut was lovely with excellent use of space and wonderful views and layout. but there were a couple of small niggles for the price point which stops me awarding full marks. There were a number of small faults slightly broken toilet seat lifted it up so as to not damage further but got cold bum!, broken outside chair slat, cooker hob that switched itself off and then gave a fault reading that no googling would fix came back on after a rest, jacuzzi only half working assume just not turning right buttons but one broken and couldnt fix with several goes. Ultimately, I expect these things are the consequence of a nonstop season in difficult times but for 300 I expected a little better. I also worry I will get the blame for these kind of things so would be useful to know in advance if there are things awaiting fixing.
Had the most amazing stay and shepherds view. The hut was spotless and everyone was really friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would love to go back
On arrival, the Shepard's hut was not very clean, with old food in the kitchen sink drain and toothpaste on the bathroom cabinet. This was very disappointing, particularly during a pandemic. It seemed to need some maintenance such as the shower didn't drain properly, the toilet seat was falling off and the table wasn't screwed to the bed properly. Some instructions on how to get the bed down would of been handy! We had no WiFi although that wasn't a huge issue. Overall we enjoyed our stay and there are stunning views from the hut. The hot tub was big and we spent lots of time in it!
The view and position was stunning Found the oven quite difficult to fathom and WiFi and TV signal was too poor for use. Despite that would definitely return
Next time I will be bringing a fan with me as it was very hot because of the ... Next time I will be bringing a fan with me as it was very hot because of the weather otherwise it was a excellent holiday and I will be definitely be booking another one soon
We had an amazing stay here at Shepherds view and we would highly recommend to anyone! The hut, hot tub and views were amazing. We were not disturbed throughout our stay and it felt private enough even with the other pods around us. The hosts were friendly and there was plenty to do in the local area. We visited Elan Valley, Devil's Bridge, drove the scenic route to Aberystwyth and had lovely meals out in Rhayader. We would definitely stay here again and even try one of the new pods which were being built. The only downside was the construction work going on to build the pods, however it didn't disturb us too much as we weren't at the hut in the day time.
Great holiday
Jessica
What an absolute gem! ! Booked this for a surprise birthday trip and I wasnt disappointed. It was just as perfect in real life as in the pictures. Picturesque views and so tranquil, so lovely and relaxing. Accommodation was easy to find and had everything needed. Gorgeous little welcome pack on arrival. Definitely would return, absolutely faultless trip away!
The location and views from the property were absolutely breathtaking, as was watching the red kytes fly overhead. The caravan was clean and well appointed and Gemma was very helpful when needed.
Absolutely loved Shepherds View. The views from the hot tub were amazing and a perfect size garden for anyone taking along a dog. All the facilities inside were perfect and it has everything you would ever need.
Lovely lovely shepherd hut! Hosts were amazing, great communication if and when I needed something with it being over Christmas too it was excellent. Absolutely spotless, no faults at all. The only fault really is on Skyes cottages it says it has a oven which it doesnt, and after checking with the owner was told it doesnt have an oven and it shouldnt be listed.
Eduard
Had an briliant stay, Simon was very helpful and friendly. Definetely looking forward for another stay.
Shepherds View is a lovely little hut with simply stunning views! The site is perfectly located for finding adventures in the area. The hot tub is just what you need after a long day trekking the Welsh hills. Loved it here!
Kirsty
