We had a lovely stay. The mattresses were very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the hot tub was a fantastic addition. We especially enjoyed the beautiful views from the cottage absolutely stunning and very relaxing. The only small downsides were the lack of comfortable outdoor chairs and the rather wornout frying pan. We ended up buying a new one ourselves, and everything else was great. An additional bonus was the fresh eggs, which you can buy right at the entrance to the holiday park. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!
Carolyn
Lovely, comfortable and clean. Had everything you need for our stay. Views across the countryside are amazing. Our dog loved the enclosed garden. We explored the local area, visiting the Elan Valley and the Red Kite Feeding Station.
Stephanie
The accomodation at Hillside View was great. Comfy nights sleep with amazing views and scenery. Peaceful, relaxing and short drive from Rhayader town with nice pubs and riverside walk. Finished off with hot tub. Very happy campers.
We have just got back from an amazing stay at Hillside view. The location was perfect as a base for exploring beautiful wales, the site is so peaceful and views are beautiful. We also enjoyed watching the goats and cows. We had a week of great weather so our two young children really made the most of the garden, which was so convenient for us with it being enclosed and safe, handy for our dog too. Hot tub was a great addition after a long day walkingcycling. Our only feedback would be that it would be great to have some comfortable seating for the garden. We would definitely return and thank you for a great stay.
Perfect little get away. Small and compact, great location

It was ok, but it was a shepard hut, the teli was not positioned right when you were sitting on the siting area. It did its purpose, we were in the Royal Welsh show all day, The bed was very comfortable. There was no teapot, a microwave would be very handy. The view was vantastic, and quiet.
Fantastic view, so clean, enclosed garden was amazing for the dogs! Hot tub was spot on. Loved it
We had a wonderful stay at Hillside View! This was our first holiday with our rescue dog Winnie, and since her recall isnt quite perfect yet, the fully enclosed garden was a dream come true. Watching her run around safely so happy and carefree truly warmed our hearts. The hut itself was spotless, cosy, and just the right size for the two of us and Winnie. The bed was super comfortable and we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. After a day of walking and exploring the local area, we loved unwinding in the hot tub each evening it was the perfect way to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings. The views are absolutely stunning, with rolling hills, sheep, and even friendly Highland cows to say hello to each day. Winnie is absolutely heartbroken to be home we all are really! Were already counting down the days until we can return.
Clean, cosy & perfect views of the countryside. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs who had the freedom to roam without worry. Internally, warm & cosy with all the amenities youd need for a nice break! Will definitely be returning
Kenneth
Lovely holiday . Everything you needed in the shepherds hut tea coffee sugar milk and lovely biscuits . To tide you over until you go shopping . Very comfy bed and pillows . Only negative was the sofa to sit on , not to comfy if you needed to sit on for a few hours .As we did due to bad weather . The hot tub was lovely and warm and relaxing . Highly recommend we hope to visit again . The only thing that we missed was a teapot to make a nice pot of tea . Using a teabag in a cup wasnt the same . So I will remember to take one next time .
Beautiful area, beautiful scenery. Everything you need and clean and tidy. Clean bedding property in great condition, garden was great for my 2 naughty sausage dogs. Hot tub was amazing with the sunset views!! Recommend anyone to go there
We had an amazing stay which was perfect for a couple and our dogs. If we were to be extremely picky in our feedback, we would suggest having chicken wire around all the fencing as our small dogs were able to fit through the gaps. I also think that there could be a better sofa in the living area as had there been bad weather during our stay the sofa was not comfy enough to spend time watching the tv. The Shepherds Hut was lovely and had everything we needed towels, bedding, milk, tea, coffee and sugar along with washing up liquid, sponges and bin liners. Thank you for an amazing stay!
Lovely little place and surrounding areas. Very clean, tidy and comfortable inside. Dogs absolutely loved zommies around the garden whilst humans sitting in the hot tub. Lovely to have milk, Welsh cakes and basic cleaning equipment on arrival. It would be really helpful for a sign when coming up and entering the property to help navigate. Would also be useful to have a little welcome guide noting places to visit, recycling facilitates etc.

The view was amazing, but hot tube doesn't work, no light,no jets, not evan hot water, hosts couldn't repair it and they said you can still enjoy it, but main thing why we book it was hot tub, so my grandma's 80 Birthday was ruined. The frying pan was all scratched, that it was impossible to cook on it. Beds was really comfy.
Lovely property in a very relaxing environment.
Such an amazing place to stay with absolutely stunning views, so very relaxing and peaceful. Had everything you could want and need plus an incredible hot tub to relax in. The secure garden was just perfect for the dog and us. Walking up to the sound of sheep and cows just perfect. The only negative point is the problem of flies which thankfully they do provide a fly paper.
Victoria
Giving negative feedback as we didn't go due to sickness and they wouldn't let us change our dates to another time. Would not recommend
Lovely property. Only issue was finding the property, the postcode doesnt take you to the property, it takes you over a mile away and the instructions arent very clear. The instructions said would go over s cattle grid, but there wasnt one.
Robert
Beautiful Shepherds Hut. So clean bright and comfortable. Everything we could possibly need was included. The garden was a fabulous size and totally enclosed ensuring our dog was secure but with ample space to potter about. Views from property where stunning. Hot tub was amazing. Would 100 book again
Lovely quiet place with great views and all amenities just a short drive away. The place was very clean and the hot tub was well looked after and maintained and clean each day of our stay. The garden was secure which were great for the dog and some very nice walks close by to go on. They quickly fix anything that is needed and we really enjoyed our stay. Would be definitely be booking again.
We arrived at hillside view and was greeted by a very helpful staff member ... We arrived at hillside view and was greeted by a very helpful staff member cutting the grass , He told us about the local area etc, The shepherds hut was clean and comfortable with absolutely stunning views of the hills , the size of the garden for the dog was more than adequate, the overall site was clean and tidy ,the site was very peaceful day and night and even the builders were very respectful of people being on holiday , only minor grumble was loose kitchen tap and broken window catch in bedroom which was a slight security concern , we will be going back , Regards David
We had a fantastic stay and could not fault it.
Jennifer
Fabulous stay for half term at hillside view. Super windy night the first night! But it didnt ruin our stay. Amazing views, hot tubs are great and Elan Valley was a highlight! Great distance from town. The owners were so helpful and it was fully kitted out for a stay with a little one! Travel cots and high chairs available! Thanks so much for a wonderful week.
c John
Lovley surroundings. Shame about the weather. The shepherd's hut was lovely. There were a few things iwasnt impressed with.handle missing off window in bedroom hinge on wardrobe wasn't attached .and the breeze block on the hot tub cover wasn't ideal
Loved it!!! ! So clean and lovely will definitely back.
Rebecca
Ok so was a lovely place but I think the building site has a down full on it and peoples stay. With the noise and sighting. I understand your building more but could have been done on lockdown ready for full paying customers. Other than this & having difficulty finding the place after a long drive my children & dog loved it. I think the check in or check out could possibly be earlier & later but we still enjoyed it. The hot tub was gorgeous & cosy stay indoors as we had rain. The view of the sheep while washing up was a treat as I love animals & the open space for our family dog was brilliant. I would recommend to stay here. I think when the building is done it will definitely be the most relaxing place to stay.
What an amazing place. Gorgeous views. Totally relaxing two days. The hot tub was lovely. Impressed on how clean the Shepherd's hut was too. Took my two dogs and i'm pretty sure they enjoyed. There was a lovely walk for the dogs in St Harmon at a nature reserve. Already looking to go again soon. Just perfect.
Loved the accommodation , lovely friendly environment and hot tub was an absolute treat . Having a secure enclosed area for the dog was brilliant. The only small think was that there was nowhere to hang any wet clothes but didnt affect our stay in any way
Sydney
We had a fabulous stay at Hillside for my boyfriends 21st Birthday. A relaxing break in the hot tub was exactly what we wanted! The only downside was the building work going on on site which meant it was very noisy in the day and early morning making it difficult to have a lie in after a late night. But overall we enjoyed our break and would return once the building has been completed.
Claire
Everything was perfect the view, the hot tub and the shepherds hut. Couldnt have asked for anything more. Gemma always on the end of a text if you needed anything at all. Would definitely recommend to anyone and 100 will book again
Jordane
We still could not get over those incredible views, loved every second of it.
Frances
We have just returned from an amazing holiday in Hillside view. The weather was fantastic, very hot. The Shepherds hut far reached our expectations, completely spotless,. All the members of staff from cleaners to hosts were very friendly, knowledgeable about the local area and places to visit. The kite feeding station close by is a must. Lots of good local pubs for a meal out Completely recommended for a peaceful relaxing holiday
Brilliant place with spectacular views. Great for children to enjoy the out doors and down time. The staff were very helpful and gave us great ideas of places to visit while we were there. Would definitely recommend to anyone, we hope to be back again in the future.
Kirsty
Accomodation was amazing everything you needed. Good supply of tea coffee etc. Hot tub was amazing. Garden perfect for dogs. Wish we could have stayed longer really enjoyed our stay. Can't wait to go back again.
Carole
It was cosy and the location is just perfect, peaceful and quiet. Seating inside wasn't very comfortable for us anyway. However we are looking to book another week's break as we enjoyed it so much.
Rachel
The hosts were amazing came and checked on us the first night. The views were spectacular and the shepherds hut had everything you could possibly need, an all round excellent property.
Philip
Excellent break just what we needed. ..!
The Shepards Hut was exactly as advertised, both scenic and splendid. The cleanliness was impeccable and the owners were friendly and accessible Not that we needed anything as the Hut was perfect The only downsides were ones out of anybody's control. The heat generated a lot of flies during the day but being so close to a working farm & livestock, one can expect these things. The hot tub was also rather open and the neighbours and ourselves were constantly seeing each other, which was fine for myself but I know alot of folk go away for the privacy. Again, there are small trees which have been planted in the grass area which will soon achieve complete privacy. The fact that the garden was enclosed was brilliant! We have an 11 month old baby and the thought of being able to plonk her down on the grass and not be on edge was perfect. As stated above, the Hillside Hut was a fantastic place to stay. It made you really feel like you were away from it all. The site was quiet, quaint and exceptionally beautiful. It is a stones throw from Rhyader & Elan Valley and was just the ticket for our young family. Can't express our happiness at it's splendour enough. Will be back some day.
