Badgers Rest Reviews

We had a lovely time here! We came for a cozy few days away for our anniversary, it was clean and everything was as it said on the description. It was a shame we could not use the outdoor spa hot tub due to the weather! No complaints from us at all! The hosts were lovely and friendly from the get go!
Really enjoyed it, peaceful, comfortable just right for a short break. The biscuits and milk were a nice touch. The owner sending events in the village was also a nice touch. A short information sheet on how things work i.e. the microwaveoven. Where the wood and logs were because we purchased some thinking that the lighters and matches were the starter kit. Where rubbish recycling goes. But all in all a nice cosy stay.
I booked this accommodation in error, thinking I had chosen the garden apartment. For this reason I could only give the hut a full star rating as none of its failings were the fault of either the accommodation nor the owners, but simply its fit with our needs. It is a beautifully presented shepherds hut, fitted with everything you could need if on a rather small scale. For two or three nights it would have been a wonderfully quirky stay, but with a full weeks worth of food and clothing it was unfortunately rather cramped. However, as I say, that was our fault and not the fault of the accommodation. Badgers Rest was spotlessly clean with a lovely shower. The outside facilities were comfortable and private, though we did not sample the hot tub. With the log burner going it was warm and cosy even in the height of a storm. If you want a cosy romantic getaway, then this is the place for you and I would highly recommend it.
Welcomed by dog poo on property. Accommodation clean and tidy and well organised. No cooker, only microwave with browning option. Extremely small fridge with only ice cube box not up to temperature for icecream which had to be thrown away. Underfloor heated told set for 21 degrees however didnt come on during our stay at all despite low temperatures. No TV. Shower running simultaneously cold then hot. Hot tub not monitored by owners for pH level or hygiene. Concern expressed to owners via text as no face to face contact with owners during stay informed not needed. Felt unwell following hot tub use and so had to leave property two days early.
We had a lovely time at Badgers Rest. I booked this as an anniversary treat for my husband and it didnt disappoint. We both enjoyed the quirky little shepherds hut and the woodfired hot tub. It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Thank you so much Sarah & Simon, you made us feel very welcome, The Falcos Peterborough X

Delightful, small but comfortable shepherd's hut perfect for a quiet getaway. All as advertised and the owners were keen to make us welcome. The wifi never worked not a worry for us but everything else just as we expected. A number of coastal walks and the castle accessible without the use of a car. Pubs and local shops just five minute walk away. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a lovely stay. Perfect get away from stress.
We enjoyed our stay at Badgers Rest which is a cosy and comfortable place to stay it's location is serene and handly placed for Tintagel Castle and the local shops and restaurants, the only issue was the wifi kept dropping out apart from that it was perfect.
Friendly welcome from the owners. Lovely quirky accommodation! Tintagel itself is great. Hoping to go back soon!
Excellent cosy little shepherds hut, our stay was amazing everything was as better than listed our only slight issue was with the shower pressure.
Thankyou for such a lovely stay! The badgers rest is so private with it's own garden, Sarah and her husband have thought of everything to make it feel like home from home. Would highly recommend this to my friends and family and will be making a return in the future.
Charlotte

Badgers Rest is a beautiful place to stay. Its tranquil and quaint, a perfect place to relax! The hosts have thought of everything from comfy sun loungers, a bistro dining table and chairs by the wood fired hot tub stove which are ideal for sitting on and keeping the fire going for heating the tub! The shepherds hut has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The shower is excellent and the bathroom is a good size with plenty of storage. The kitchen area has everything you need and tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits provided. The bed is very comfortable and folds up to make way for more seating during the day. There is lots of storage provided for clothes etc. This is the best shepherds hut we have stayed in! Highly recommend! 5 Ideal walking distance from Tintagel shops and pubs. Friendly, attentive hosts. Thanks for such a lovely time

We have just come back after 3 nights at Badgers Rest and we had such a lovely stay. The owners are so accommodating and they said they were there for anything we need from the start and they were! They went above and beyond to give recommendations and assist with absolutely anything we needed. The property was lovely and clean and the hot tub and log burner inside were fantastic. Highly recommend! We would like to thank them for everything!
We booked this property for a last minute get away and it exceeded all of our expectations. The shepherd's hut is lovely and comes equipped with everything you need. The location is perfect to access everything you would want to around Tintagel. The owner was super helpful and responded immediately when we had a query. The owner also provides some great recommendations for things to do and places to eat which was really useful for us to plan our stay. We would definitely return.
Sandra
Amazing is an understatement, warm, cosy ,clean ,cute, homely shepherds hut describes this place better Couldn't ask for anything more, everything needed was there for a brilliant stay. Great communication from.host. Would highly recommend
Fantastic little tiny house in a great location. Stunning views a short walk from the doorstep and lots of beautiful places to visit. Owners were friendly and left us to it, whilst being only a stones throw away if we needed anything. We had a wonderful time over 5 days and would visit again. Only fault would be the driveway to the property could use a little maintenance.
We had an absolutely amazing and magical stay at Badgers Rest. Sarah made us feel so welcome and the property was exactly as described. Lovely space saving measures, plenty of storage room and everything we could have wanted. The wood fired hot tub was amazing and we spent every evening it it. Only a 10 minute walk into Tintagel which was very convenient after an evening of eating and drinking! To top it off my partner and I got engaged during our time here, it was so special and we cant wait to come back again.
Suzanne
Fantastic place, cosy and comfortable with very friendly owners. The Japanese hot tub is an excellent addition, doubling as a chimnea. Ideal location, close to the high street but nestled away on a quiet road. Easy access to lovely coastal walks. Highly recommend.
Teresa
The property was lovely and well equipped. The bed was comfortable. The area was beautiful. The shop and pubs close by . Walks from your door steps. Different stay again
A fantastic little place. Everything you may need is provided. The hot tub is fabulous. Would be very likely to stay again and will most definitely recommend to family and friends.
Andrea
Fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Beautiful area with lots of eateries and the most stunning scenery and walks. A gorgeous, wellpresented and comfortable little hut with everything you need. The outside space is very well kitted out with sun loungers, a bistro set, and chairs. I would highly recommend this.

What an amazing find! Badgers rest provided a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Immaculately presented with all needs considered. A quiet, private and restful retreat. We didn't want to leave. A big thank you to the owners for helping make our holiday. We wish them every success for the future.
Matthias
Fantastic stay at Badgers Rest! Comfortable bed and surprisingly spacious for a shepherds hut. Hosts were extremely helpful. All the facilities you need inside as well as a nice decking area to eat outside and a wood fired hot tub to use on the evenings. Lovely town of Tintagel a short walk down the road. Pubs, restaurants and delicious pasties Wed recommend Pengenna all nearby the historicmythical remains of King Arthurs castle. Breathtaking views from the castle and along the coastal path. Lots to do nearby 10 minute drive to the beautiful tidal beach at Trebarwith strand 2.5 hours either side of low tide would highly recommend biking along the camel trail from Padstow or Wadebridge, stopping off at the gorgeous Camel Valley vineyard must book a table. A fantastic base to discover the north Cornish coast.
Richard
