Moonshine Reviews

Lovely place just a shame about the hot tub not being cleaned prior to our visit. Tide marks all around the edge. I appreciate we could have highlighted this during our stay. However we felt its something that shouldve already been done without having to ask. Could do with a broom to sweep the floor throughout our stay. Would return as these are simple fixes.
Jessica
Really really lovely would just like a little more information of how to out ... Really really lovely would just like a little more information of how to out the bed down and maybe just some information about the nearest place like shop and take away and pub but thats all really such a lovely place and we most definetly will be back

My wife and I loved this shepherd hut, lovely and warm, very clean. Took a minute or two to figure out where the bed was. Bedouin tent comfortable but cool in May. The grounds are glorious, so quiet with a serene walk in the woods behind and a nice public foot path with loads of geocaches if you're into that hobby. Loved the hot tub 2 hours to heat up with the woodburning option. Would have liked to see a microwave, even a small one for quick meals and the internet is Starlink which dropped a few times. All said and done we would come again if we could only fly over the M5 which I believe is a major motorway where people are still learning to drive. Only a minor thing but owners please include spare toilet rolls but a big thankyou for a lovely venue and the prosecco was very much appreciated.
Lauren
Lovely quite location, hut is more or less secluded to your own little area. Hot tub was a little bit of a pain to heat up. Teepee is a very cute little space and the hut is very snug. The bed folding up into the wall is very convinent for space saving, mattress is a bit too firm but thats more a personal preference. The hob only seemed to want to work on one ring and the other did keep turning off, wasn't any instructions for it so unsure if I just couldnt figure it out properly. Its a very peaceful location, most attractions etc are 3050min drives away however even the drives there are very scenic. Would love to visit again
Jeremy
A lovely location with great facilities, well thought out.

Absolutely perfect few days here! The hut is gorgeous, the tub was great too and the owners were really helpful with supplying more wood when we ran out. Thanks a lot
Excellent holiday, the but was as described. All well presented, bed especially appreciated firm enough and I fitted comfortably. All fittings excellent, hot tub a great place to watch bats as the sun went down.Beautiful location, nice and quiet, really great to wake up and be able to relax over a morning brew.Great place for a simply relaxing break, Tony and Shaheen
We had an amazing stay at Moonshine , Immaculate, beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend, you won't be disappointed 1010

The stay was truly beautiful, but for the expensive price tag, there were some aspects which let the stay down slightly. One of the features that really drew us to the property was the skylight above the bed inside, however this was completely filthy. It was impossible to see through the layer of brown dirt on the glass, which was extremely disappointing and we did feel misled by this given that this was advertised. The hot water in the kitchen ran for maximum 1 minute before going cold this made washing up very difficult and we had to wait a while before it would heat up again. The shower however was lovely. Of course, being so remote, we expected to encounter bugs and insects, however we would have expected signs that some effort was taken to clear areas on the day of check in. There were spiders EVERYWHERE I am severely arachnophobic and though I expected to encounter a few, the sheer number was overwhelming. All over the windows, etc. and there were long standing cob webs all over the outside. I understand this is natural however it did not appear that the hot tub, tent outside both outside and inside the tent or the outside of the hut itself had ever been cleared of them. There were even cobwebs inside the kitchen drawer with the plates and bowls. Again, the actual facility is beautiful, we were provided with plenty of firewood and had a great time with both the fire pit and the hot tub, however I was unable to use the tent due to the number of spiders inside and some aspects, especially the hot water and the skylight, were disappointing.

Amazing experience and amazing memories at this perfect location, will never forget this experience. The owners are are lovely and really helpful, Would highly recommend this for someone who would like a remote and quiet get away.
Beautiful and elegant little shepards hut in the middle of nowhere! ! Exactly what we were looking for. Made great use of the log fired hot tub which was super clean and comfortable and heated up surprisingly fast. The hut its self is very elegant and well styled. The bed was extremly comfortable and love the skylight above the bed!! The tipi outside was a great little area to chill and useful when getting out of the hot tub. Everything needed to cook and clean is already there Such a comfortable place to stay and a lovely welcome. Would 100 recommend and will definitely be looking to book again in the future. Thank you so much.
Elizabeth

We recently stayed at moonshine as a couple with a dog and had a great time. The hosts were welcoming when we arrived and although close by for any necessities left us to our own devices. The hut itself was very clean and practical with all essentials needed. with nice welcoming gifts it really is a hidden gem on lovely grounds. The woods behind are great for sunset walks, where you can really enjoy nature and all its wonderful noises. Good location also with lots of places within a reasonable drive. We will be going back for sure. Highly recommended.
