Tanglewood Shepherds Hut Reviews

Awesome place. Great few days spent here. The hot tub started finished off each day very nicely. Roy is a great host and is very friendly. We will definitely be returning.
What a delightful, enchanting location. You could be forgiven for imagining you are in a magical clearing in a forest! Handcrafted with a lot of care and attention. Even in the snow, this hut was nice and cosy. If you actually make it out of the hut and away from the hot tub, then there is plenty to do, lots of walks, lots of history, Powys Castle, the canal, Offas Dyke, the hidden grade 1 listed building the poultry house. Roy is a wonderful host, so you won't have any issues at all during your stay. We'll worth it, I will definitely be going back again.

Our stat in tanglewood hut was absolutely perfect. The accommodation was very clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. Sitting by the wooden fire and listening to the crackling sounds was incredibly relaxing, and the hot tub was the perfect finishing touch. Everything was calm and comfortable, just what we needed. Roy was an excellent hostkind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We truly loved every moment and would highly recommend it.

Tanglewood cottage what a gem of a place! Cosy, clean and stylish, with peaceful beautiful surroundings it was better than we had expected. The host was so friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Would thoroughly recommend this place and would love to come back again.
The hut was absolutely beautiful, clean and the hosts were extremely welcoming. Would highly recommend staying here. We will be back soon
Richard
TangleWood is a beautifully handmade shepherd's hut. The owner and maker, Roy was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble, although we didn't have any issues other than needing more logs for the burner, which no sooner we mentioned they appeared. The hot tub was lovely and warm on a chilly evening. The bed is so comfortable, the oven cooked food really well but I wouldn't recommend using it for toast. The only concern really is the hot water isn't just hot it's scolding so be aware. No warning sign near the tap to advise of this, other than the handbook, which if we hadn't read it we wouldn't have known. Welcome gift hamper was great and the luxury toiletries were a surprise so if we had forgotten shower gel etc it was ideal. All in all a wonderful weekend hide away. Thank you to Roy for allowing us to stay in your stunning hut, we will definitely be booking again.
Mathew
The shepherd's hut was well equipped with all the essentials and more. It was very cosy especially with the log burner going. Welcoming hosts and assured us if we needed anything please just ask. Welcome book very helpful for places to eat.
Roy was a fantastic host, we had three nights of nothing but rest and relaxation in a beautiful space. We could not have been happier.
Me and my partner have had a lovely, relaxing weekend. Tanglewood is in such a peaceful location and the hand grafted cabin gives it such a cozy and warm feeling. The facilities are great, brilliant attention to detail! This has been a great first cabin experience for us and we would definitely recommend. The host has been so friendly and helpful. Tanglewood also isnt too far from the local village for shops restaurants etc. in case you need anything.

Our stay at Tanglewood was incredible. The owner greeted us upon arrival, and advised we could contact him should we need anything, the owner only proceeded to check on us twice which was nice as it felt like we were also given space. The lodge itself is beautifully crafted, and relaxing in the hot tub with an open fire so was relaxing. The interiors and little touches like a basket of treats and the fact the hot tubs wooden cover sides came down to leave a view of the horses were very well received. We would definitely stay here again.
Karlton
We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back again. I would recommend Tanglewood to anyone wanting a romantic getaway. Roy was such a nice person and very accommodating, always willing to help and checking if there was anything we needed during our stay. We spent 3 nights there but could have stayed even longer, Roy also bought us a bottle of champagne as it was our honeymoon and we invited him and his wonderful partner to have a drink with us. Thanks again for a brilliant stay, see you again soon!
An absolutely incredible stay. The hut was absolutely beautiful, clean and the hosts were extremely welcoming. Would highly recommend staying here.
