The Coop Reviews

Joanna
The cottage was just amazing. Very clean, the bed was very comfortable, kitchen perfectly organized, you can find all needs to preper a meal as well as have a cup of tea provided by owner with pack of biscuits. The hot tub took us about 5hours to warm up, but it was freezy outside, around 0 degrece. Onec warmed up keeps temperature for a long time. Nice and cosy place to spend for a romantic time, as we didn't see anybody for a whole staying. Thank you.
We have stayed in many places similar to the coop but are yet to return to any of them. Until now. We will 100 be returning as we enjoyed our trip so much. It's completely private we didn't see one person the whole time. But help was on the other end of the phone should we need anything. The coop is clean, spacious and warms up very quickly. The hot tub took a good 5 hours to heat up but we expected this and once it was hot it was well worth the wait. There's an amazing pub a 5 min drive up the road The swan with 2 necks. If you're wanting to unplug and escape, get back to basics without having to actually camp.. i couldn't recommend this place enough. We had trouble connecting to wifi but 5G worked.
I booked this for the beginning of December as a surprise for my partners birthday, from the very beginning the hosts were so accommodating and helped me achieve the visions I had for the weekend. The site itself is easy to find, very private and discrete, and absolutely beautiful. Theres only two usb charging cables and limited power when overcast, but that really did not bother either of us. The hut gets so cosy and warm within 10 minutes of the log fire starting, as well as the hot tub. Both easy to maintain. Would 100 recommend booking with these, theyve started something genuinely beautiful! Be back soon
A beautiful welcoming accommodation. A wonderful setting with amazing views. A fantastic place to hide away. Bravo and thank you. Jon
Absolutely stunning location and was exactly what we needed, the quiet, the escape and the ability to just switch off. Relatively easy to find following the instructions but a sign opposite the entrance to the hit may help as we c drove past this initially and despite knowing about it on a return trip missed it a second time as it sends quite hidden as you come up the track. Would definitely stress to other guests this cabin sits between top end clamping and a Shepards hut getaway. Theres only one USB type socket across the property, so leave your hairdryers etc, and the fridge is only really small so avoid bringing lots of bits that require a refrigerator as it wont fit. The hot tub is a lovely addition but you will need to stay with it to warm it up and it can take a while, we thought we could set a fire and go out for a walk for it to be warm on return but this isnt the case Maybe the addition of some insulated foam to the cover may help with heat escape and time it takes to warm up, also have noted that people had mentioned leaves, this looked more to us like sediment build up from the pipes as only became visible to us once water was circulating with the heat. We may have been stupid, but is there heating within the cabin beyond lighting the log fire? We couldnt find instructions and the panel that we thought may have worked a little generator didnt work. Despite all of the above, these are only little niggles, Id definitely come back again despite these.
A lovely cosy cabin in a beautiful setting with stunning views all around. It was very peaceful and quiet which is just what we needed to unwind from the stresses of everyday life. The accommodation had everything we needed for our weekend stay, it was warm and cosy and the bed was very comfortable. The hot tub was a nice extra although we only used it briefly on our first night as the weather wasn't great storm Amy

Very relaxing & enjoyable stay at the coop. We were surrounded by the most stunning scenery perched on a hill. Perfectly enclosed & gated area ideal for our dog to run free. Log burner is so toasty & quickly heats the coop. Wood fired Hot tub amazing & heats up very quickly. Shower was excellent & very powerful. Ideal place to detach from the stresses of everyday life & if you want to catch up on any tv etc bring a tablet & a good data package & you are set. You have to be prepared to be creative with your culinary skills due to limited ways in which to cook, but this is advertised prior to booking. We had fun discovering just how creative you can be. Baking potatoes wrapped in foil & dropped into the fire pit. To sum up the coop was ideal for us & we highly recommend it for a relaxing break. We were fortunate to have exceptionally good weather.
Elisha
Such a lovely property! Very small and cosy. The hot tub gets really warm and we made the most of it during our stay with bad weather. The views of the land are also beautiful. Would stay again! Only downside is theres only 2 USB ports. Would be great to have a microwave as it opens up food options & a mirror for convenience.

Could have done with a mirror for shaving, make up etc gas oven and ONE 240V ... Could have done with a mirror for shaving, make up etc gas oven and ONE 240V Socket would have been lovely, but views from Hot Tub Amazing
We had a really nice stay, very nice and peaceful surrounding area. The cabin was exactly as described and was perfect for our stay, i cant recommend enough
Jessica
Had a lovely 3 night stay at the Coop. Managed to find it no problem using the owners handy instructions and the setting is absolutely beautiful! Not another soul around apart from a pack of cows that me and my boyfriend enjoyed watching mooch around. The wood fired hot tub is a little tricky to get right but that is our fault not the places I would definitely recommend setting it off 2 hours before you want to get in on the first day as it takes a while to heat up and if you are staying for a while maybe drain and refill the tub if this is allowed? I slept great the only criticism is there are a lot of flies but the owners do provide you with fly spray and a swatter in the cupboard but this is bound to happen on a farm and the views out way this. I also would recommend a mirror being put up or taking one with you as there isnt one in the lodge. Again such a minor inconvenience but I didnt realise how much I use one until it was taken away! The pubs are fantastic near by and a very relaxing three day stay.
Beautiful stay. Absolutely stunning views from the decking or in the hot tub. Loved loved loved that there were cows in the field right next to us! Would definitely recommend and will most likely stay again in the future
Tiegan
Absolutely beautiful place , so peaceful. Lovely get away
The Coop was absolutely lovely Well finished with a high attention to detail the biscuits and bottle of Asti were a lovely surprise and amazing location if looking for a relaxed retreat and somewhere offgrid Super quiet surroundings and peaceful. Lovely long drive up to the Coop and tucked out of the way, the only noise was from the cows and the occasional tractor driving past! Outdoor decking area was huge along with the patio and enclosed grass area so plenty of room to sit out. Hot tub was nice and easy to operate, just took 2 hours to warm up on the first night so bear this in mind but after this warmed up relatively quickly lots of wood provided to keep it going. Cutlery, plastic glasses etc are provided. Only negative we had and no fault of the owners, was the abundance of flies we walked into when we first accessed the property due to the farm and cow fields this lodge looks over and the constant influx of these into the property over our weekend here something we also mentioned to them. There was a fly swatter and spray provided to help remove these which was helpful, however I found I spent a lot of time removing the flies which was a real shame and became a bit of a pain. AGAIN NO FAULT OF THE OWNERS! All in all, amazing stay and scenic setting Perfect for anniversary weekend. Some lovely walks to do nearby too, just bear in mind youll probably need to drive somewhere to get something to eat if youre not planning on cookingBBQing All are included within a handy bookletfolder found within The Coop. Hosts were great and accommodating over text there if we ever needed anything but most importantly left us to enjoy our weekend! Couldnt recommend enough!!
Abigail
We had an amazing stay, and absolutely loved your lil cabin. We will definitely be back. Only negative was a lot of flies but completely not your fault due to farm location!
Hannah
We loved our stay at The Coop and will definitely be back! It was a lovely secluded area, it had everything you could need in the kitchen and we were pleasantly surprised by the bathroom facilities, with plenty of hot water for showers. We came with our dog who loved the large secure space to run around as well. The only thing to note is that the directions on the booking weren't quite right, though this may user error. Our only very minor request for the future would be a hook or similar to keep the door open.
Philip
We had a lovely stay at the coop the whole experience was just perfect we ... We had a lovely stay at the coop the whole experience was just perfect we thought it so very cute to be greeted by a heard of heifers being inquisitive the hot tub was just lovely and the fire pit was perfect managed to bbq 2 lovely stakes on it Only down point was disappointed to find no frying pan so we bought one for you on the Sunday morning and enjoyed a good English breakfast thanks for the stay it was so so lovely
