Hawkstone Reviews

William
From the moment we arrived, Phil and Lou were fantastic hosts. They met us at the entrance to personally welcome us, which immediately made us feel valued and at home. I had arranged this stay as a birthday surprise for my partner, and they truly went above and beyond to help make the weekend special. Their effort, thoughtfulness and attention to detail exceeded anything I could have expected. The Hawkstone cabin itself was exceptional, clean, modern, cosy and extremely comfortable. Despite the cold and rainy weather, the hot tub was perfectly prepared, piping hot and spotless, which made it even more enjoyable. The kitchen and bathroom were modern, beautifully maintained and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It was a perfect birthday weekend in a beautiful setting, and we are already looking forward to returning. We would highly recommend Hawkstone to anyone looking for a peaceful and special getaway.
We had such a lovely stay at hawkstone for our anniversary, Lou and Phil were so lovely and attentive! The place its self it just gorgeous and the views are amazing! Perfect for a nice chilled out getaway! We will definitely be back!

5 stars from us. Lou & Phil have made this so beautiful & relaxing. There is everything anyone could want & need. I had a welcome text & a couple of texts throughout our stay to check all ok. I honestly loved this place. You have a real gem.
Honestly amazing. The cabin itself was perfect had everything we needed even down to the basics of tea sugar and coffee. Didn't need to bring anything other than our dinners. This cabin is well thought about and even better run by the most lovely couple who are so welcoming. Lou greeted us upon arrival and told us about a few things that are around aswell. Will definitely be back again,it is very relaxing and I had the best nights sleep.
Harriet
We had the best time at Hawkstone. Lou and Phil were welcoming hosts and you can see the love and care thats gone into hawkstone. Theyve thought of everything so you can have a relaxing stay. Will definitely book again!

We cannot speak highly enough of our break at Hawkstone, the fact that there are only 2 pods give the location a boutique feel. Our Hosts quickly answered our settling in questions and gave us just the right amount of help without being intrusive . We were blessed with good weather and this is an ideal location to do walks of your own choosing duration wise. Guide books supplied Other Towns Villages are only a short drive away or you can venture further afield , It was the best of both worlds , when it rained we felt cosy , when it was sunny, just sit on the veranda with a cup of tea and talked to the cows or luxuriated in the Hot Tub, the quiet location meant we slept very well indeed , if you need a place to either unwind or explore THIS is it and it can work year round. Cost wise we found it reasonable but of course costs are subejctive.according to your income. We will certainty return subject to funds and, as this is a newish venture for the owners they need support in these early days of establishing the business. TIP 1 some of the nearby attractions are NOT open year round or on specific datesdays only, so do your research before you go to avoid disappointment. TIP 2 The TV is internet based so you may wish to take your Firestick or a pre loaded USB or similar.

Second time weve stayed at the hawkstone and the second time weve had a brilliant time enjoying the weather, views and the cows company from the hot tub. Would highly recommend as a perfect stay away from every day life.
This break really was perfect, I cannot fault it in any way! It is so comfortable, cosy and welcoming and has the wow factor when you arrive. The view is lovely and the hot tub was warm when we arrived. The WiFi worked well which was great as it meant I could cast Netflix to the tv in the evening. The cows were great entertainment and I really enjoyed watching them. The kitchen and bathroom had everything you might need and were very clean and well looked after. I did not want to leave, but when I did, I felt very well rested and relaxed.
Olivia

Everything was over and above our expectations even the weather. Lou and Phil are the perfect hosts, around when needed via message or person. Facilities and cleanliness were exceptional. From the wonderful sunrise and stunning sunsets Hawkstone helps you relax, enjoy and feel rejuvenated especially after a dip in the very private jacuzzi, the whole of the pod area was private. Perfect location for visiting garden, National Trust and many other local attraction.
Our stay at Hawstone was so peaceful and relaxing, everywhere was so clean and you can tell Lou and Phil put in so much effort to make it as enjoyable as possible. I wish I booked more days to stay longer! Will definitely come back again!

Perfect stay at Hawkstone. Booked as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday & cant fault a thing it was absolutely beautiful & felt very relaxed after 3 nights. Loved the hot tub & view. Very clean with everything you could need. We already spoke about returning. Lou & Phil are lovely Thank you for a great stay!
What an amazing couple running this place, they were friendly and have a great attitude with people, nothing was a problem for them, even down to giving us wood for the fire pit that was in the neighbouring lodge that was not being used at the time and supplied marshmallow for the fire, we have said we will go again next year.
100 Spent a week for my birthday, it was perfect. We wanted a quite time and thats what we had. Lou and Phil can not do enough for you, treat you more like family than visitors. Even taxied us to the pub so we could both have a drink for my birthday Every were is immaculate and clean. Everything you need to cook, sleep and a lovely walk in shower. Hot tub is a perfect addition to these lovely pods. Would definitely go again. Good luck to Lou and Phil, keep up the great work. Tracy and Age

We had an amazing time at Hawkstone. Lou and Phil met us on arrival and were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. The shepherds hut and separate bathroomkitchen were amazing everything was finished to such a high standard and it was all spotlessly clean. Lou and Phil had thought of everything. The hot tub was a real highlight, as it was always up to temperature and ready for us! We enjoyed a relaxing, peaceful few days away, and loved the feeling of spending so much time outdoors. Even though the weather was chilly, it was lovely to sit outside with a blanket and then warm up in the hot tub! Wed definitely recommend Hawkstone and will hopefully be back ourselves!
Second time staying here and already looking for dates in summer for our third stay! Lou and Phil Are the BEST!! I would totally recommend!!! Super private, peaceful and most importantly relaxing. We can't wait to visit again. Jay and Angel x
Callum
Lou & Phil are fantastic owners. Greeting us when we arrived and a quick chat when we were leaving was a nice touch, as a lot of places weve stayed previously its simply a case of turn up and let yourself in. Everything was clean, tidy and well looked after. It was also helpful having the welcome book telling us about what shops, takeaways etc were local. And also the personal recommendations from Lou & Phil about some local places. Overall its a lovely, peaceful place with great owners and youre not too far from a lot of stuff if you want to be out and about in the day.
Lovely little pod, very clean and tidy, everything thats needed was in there. Hosts made us feel very welcome upon arrival

1010 stay and experience. If you are looking for something private and quiet away from the city then look no further! This place has everything you can need for your stay. Lou and Phill really went the extra mile to ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxed. Upon arrival we had met with them and they are so lovely, as we arrived late evening they warmed up the room and the hot tub for us. I would 1000 recommend. There is a reason for the all 5 reviews

Spent two nights here with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. Even though our booking happened to fall upon the time of the storm, we managed to have a wonderful stay. The pod was so cozy. Everything was beautiful and clean, especially waking up to see sheep every morning before my shower. The hosts were brilliant, they helped us when we could not get what we needed due to the storm. I cannot recommend this place enough. Will definitely be coming back!
November 2024 Angel and Jayx Best getaway we've ever had! !! Very peaceful and private! Lou and Phil Thank you so much for everything, you guys thought of everything. We will be back very soon
Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed our stay. We were greeted by Lou and Phil at arrival and they were very welcoming. The pod and external area were so nice warm, cosy and clean. The hot tub was great to relax in the evening and the area was just so quiet and peaceful. Thank you for an amazing stay
Weve just returned from the most relaxing stay at Hawkstone Lodge. Lou one of the owners is absolutely lovely and meet us on arrival. Firstly the location is amazing, and so peaceful. Looking out over open fields and listening to the birds over the ponds is wonderful. The cabin its self is beautifully furnished with a very comfy bed! I love that the kitchen and bathroom area is completely separate to the bedroom which is a rare find. When I say they have thought of everything, I really mean it. Anything we needed we found. And all the equipment and appliances are high quality. The hot tub is completely private and appreciated after many long walks you have around you. We absolutely loved our stay and will be booking to come back in the New Year.
Rachel
