Harriet Reviews

Melissa
We spent 3 nights with our 2 dogs in Harriet, and had such a peaceful relaxing weekend. The weather was very hot, but we were able to cool down in the hot tub as it wasn't lit. The views are amazing and you can sit out and watch the wildlife go by. We saw beautiful butterflies, dragonflies, swifts and red kites. We had everything we needed in the pod, and especially liked the lovely fluffy towels provided. Gemma is an amazing host, and we also loved Sam the dog, who came to play with our 2 dogs every day, which was lovely. We are hoping to go back for a winter break this year, and would highly recommend
Jessica
My husband and I, my 5 year old son and dog had an amazing time here. The cabin was cosy, clean and comfortable, the hot tub was excellent, the location was peaceful and stunning and there was so much space to run around and play. We would love to come back!
It was lovely, well maintained no issue there. My only issues were the height of the bed, I am short so I had to use the suitcase as a step just to get into bed. Also the hot tub steps didn't go high enough short legs so that was a manic scramble with help. Otherwise everything was great and our dog enjoyed meeting Sam.
We had a wonderful stay at Hidden Gem Escapes for a Fathers Day weekend and couldnt have asked for a better place to switch off and reset. The cabin is absolutely beautiful spotless, really well thought out, and set in the most peaceful surroundings. You can genuinely see the care, love and attention thats gone into creating it. A perfect countryside escape waking up to birds and just having time together away from the usual rush of everyday life. The only small thing wed suggest is bringing citronella candles or similar, as there were quite a lot of flies around which is to be expected in the countryside in summer and this would really help make outdoor time even more comfortable. Overall, a truly special stay and we would highly recommend for anyone needing a proper reset in a beautiful setting.
Charlotte
We had a fantastic stay at Harriet. The hosts were extremely accommodating and the lodge itself was perfect. Beds are extremely comfortable and deceptively spacious even the bunks. It was extremely clean and well thought out to make a wonderful family getaway with our dog. We particularly loved the hot tub and smores on the fire pit. Perfect location to visit the beaches and Hafren Forest. We look forward to returning and to see what this fantastic family business will do next. Thank you.
Kirsty
Highly recommend. The property was clean and tidy. If I had to be really critical, I'd say it could've done with extra shelves for storage, but it wasn't a huge issue. The extra touches were lovely, the towels and robes supplied for example. We loved sitting out, whether out at night stargazing or during the day watching the world go by was idyllic. We felt as though we were really able to relax and enjoy life at a slower pace. Also, Sam is the cutest

Harriet was amazing. The attention to detail is incredible. The bed is super comfy and the views when you wake up are incredible. The owners are so helpful and provide lots of information on ideas so you never get bored. A great place to get away and relax and explore
Stacey
We immensely enjoyed our stay at Harriet. Delightful views, relaxing hot tub and fire pit. Very thoughtfully designed with lots of little touches from the owners. Had all the facilities we needed to relax and enjoy my husband's 50th along with our cat.
We had such a lovely time at Harriet! The location, views and accommodation were stunning, potentially one of my favourite places I have stayed! Every little detail was thought of, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need and the added extras were gorgeous. Its not a far drive from a lovely beach town and its near some great walks. We already cant wait to come back!
We had a brilliant stay at Harriet. The hut is designed and built to a high spec so it's very comfortable. Four of us mum, dad, 2 kids fitted in the hut comfortably, using the fold out furniture for game nights, nibbles and drinks. The bed is super comfy and kitchen stocked with everything you need to self cater during your stay. The attention to detail is amazing, from the elevated bed frame that allows for extra storage to the games left in the outside cupboard to entertain the kids. Our girls loved the bunk beds, they still talk about them months afterwards. They were comfortable and cosy, perfect for our 6 and 4 year old. The hut looks lovely, my partner got lots of admiration following her Instagram posts. Inside it's exactly the homely vibe you want from a staycation, but not in the dusty, dated way you'd describe your grandma's house, it's tasteful and modern at the same time. The kitchen has all the amenities you need if you want to cook for yourself, but there are towns close by where you can grab a fish and chips or takeaway pizza if that's your preference. We had so much fun in the hot tub and it's much easier to heat than we initially thought. The cherry on the cake of the whole place is being in the hot tub after dark and looking up at the millions of starts above you, there is such little light pollution. We managed to get our girls down earlyish on our last night and we enjoyed a bottle of wine, wrapped in blankets we went in April gazing at the starts for hours, it was lovely and a perfect reset from a busy city life. Gemma is a brilliant host, she keeps you well informed and Is really attentive. We had very clear instructions on our arrival day, marshmallows and cookies awaited us at check in, she drove up extra firewood when we run out and provided us tips for days out, nothing was too much trouble thank you. Even though the area is quiet, we enjoyed day trips to 2 of mid Wales most beautiful areas, hafren forest and Elan Valley, which are both stunning. Harriet was a good base for both day trips. We loved our stay and would highly recommend
