Gander Pod Reviews

Stayed in gander pod, bed was comfy, sofa needs updating. Property looked tired. No fish was caught over 4 days by any one who was staying there. We were aware of the otter kill but though the fish had been restocked. Owner did post item back to us that we left behind, which we appreciated.
Nicola
As this was a fishing trip we were disappointed not to be told about the fish situation as otters had attacked the fish hence new fencing apart from that the accommodation was nice.

The property was immaculate, it had everything we needed, the hot tub was so lovely especially when the sun came up on the last morning we were there, the only thing I could say to recommend would be maybe more gravel on the path on the way round to the accomadation as it was very boggy but it might be because we had so much rain this weekend
Stephen
Fantastic little cabin ! Had everything that we needed, will be returning in the summer to take advantage of location, great local pub too within walking distance the lion inn Will be recommending to others!
Teagan
We loved our stay here , the cabin was an amazing experience for us however our stay was negative due to the fact that this is a fishing log cabin resort and we went for my partners 18th birthday as he is serious about fishing and enjoys it . When we arrived my partner set up his fishing rod to start fishing straight away he had nothing on the first night an we thought nothing off it however the second day the owners of this resort had spoke to my partner where he told him they have had an otter kill which this really did put a negative spin on our trip as my partner and me thought this was going to be a nice fishing trip .I was extremely annoyed hearing this as nothing was mention to me upon booking or after booking about there being an otter kill I feel as though I was very missold this experience so overall not happy at all .
Wow just wow! !! I couldnt recommend this place anymore. 1010 Weekend get away for my birthday. We arrived in the evening of the 8th January when we had storm Goretti. We drove 2 hours determined to get there. Drive was awful we was stressed. We arrived on the farm and all signs were covered in snow, couldnt see. Called the contact number for the guy, answered and immediately came to help us find the way and make it through the snow as our car got stuck. Guided us to the cabin and helped carried a bag so we could do one trip. Bed was so comfy. Woke up to gorgeous snow and a lovely warm hot tub. Of course built a snowman. Stroll to the pub in evening for dinner. If cooking dinner or breakfast make sure door ajar as fire alarm is sensitive. Lots of towels, cooking essentials, very clean. When leaving it was still very icy and snowy. Our car struggled up the hill, one of the lovely guys saw us struggling and offered to tow us up hill if we couldnt make it, we did in the end. I could not fault this place, we had a lovely relaxing weekend. We will definitely be back. Thank you !!
Nicola
Lovely little lodge. Really peaceful. Just make sure to take wellies if you're going in the winter time as the path from the car park to the lodge can be a little muddy. Still, doesn't put me off going again though put it that way
Lindsey
We had such a great stay, everything was perfect, hot tub was lovely too, my partner proposed on the decking during the trip which made it even better, we are hoping to come back soon!
A little in the middle of nowhere but thats what these places are about! I stayed for 9 nights with my partner because we needed to get away from everything Could not recommend this place more affordable, clean and overall a very nice little pond

This was an outstanding holiday pod the location is breathtaking, wildlife beautiful. Accommodation clean and well equipped. Will be back definitely. A fantastic place to relax and unwind.
Michael
A wonderful place absolutely breathtaking views and lovely wildlife. The pod it self was lovely and clean. I would have liked a small freezer department in the fridge as we had ice and some frozen items. The pod was smaller than I thought it would be. However we had lovely weather and were outside on the decking or in the hot tub most of the time. Lovely big BBQ and plenty of outside seating. I only have one negative and this can't be helped as it's situated by a lovely lake , there were lots of flies , bugs and wasp. So be prepared if you go in the summer for these. Take fly spray and insect repellent. We would definitely go again 100 . However we decided next time we will stay in the cabin they look amazing . Also you're not close to each other in any of the pods or cabins which is lovely . I would say give it a try you will not be disappointed.
A perfect little get away. The gander pod was very clean and well maintained. Hot tub and decking were impeccable and would definitely go again. Just generally a very peaceful place to stay. Would highly recommend!!
Tranquil.. peaceful ..hot tub was lovely and used every day..nice touches with washing up liquid etc..pathway to pod a bit muddy and oven seal needs looking at.. but overall a very pleasant stay and a lovely pod.pretty lucky with the weather..ideal place for relaxation..loved the geese in the lake.
Caroline
The Gander Pod is compact but perfect for a couple even with a medium dog crate to be fitted in we tucked it at end of sofa so was nicely out of the way. The location is fab, easy to get to, down a dip so feels beautifully remote and you get fabulous starry skies on cloudless nights perfect to enjoy in the hot tub. Pub is easy walk away and does good food. Worth knowing if you stay in pods then cannot drive right up to door, but trolleys were in parking area and only a short stroll on decent path. We had a lovely weekend and happily recommend staying here to others.
We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and beautiful surroundings. The pub in the village was very extremely dog friendly and very welcoming. The pod was warm and has everything you need! I would just like to make the owners aware that when the shower is on water seems to get over the top of the shower screen and made the back of the toilet wet which made all the towels wet. I couldnt work out where it was coming from though. We ended up with a little puddle on the floor too.
We really enjoyed our stay, very relaxing. It had everything we needed and will be back. Suggestions from us to make it even better is a little freezer, coat hooks and a clothes horse. Just to let you know the bottle opener is broken.
Very beautiful place, quiet and the views are lovely. The only thing that puts me off abit is how the farmers dogs can just roam free near our lodges, I was walking my dog and the farmers dog came running at us, stopped then went back to its farmhouse. I was unsure if it was friendly or not. But other then that its a nice place for a short get away.
Jordan
We had a lovely holiday! So peaceful with lovely views. Great fishing trip for my boyfriend and great time relaxing in the hot tub for me. We were so impressed with the Pod and facilities provided, we werent expecting the little things like washing up liquid, toilet roll, tea and coffee etc but was great that it was all provided. So peaceful and quiet, only the sound of the sheep to wake you up in the morning. Would definitely recommend and will be returning thank you
Lovely place to stay. Very quiet and secluded. Very clean and organised. Pod had everything we needed and the hot tub was perfect. Maybe add some information about the area, Shops, pubs, places to walk etc. Would definitely return.
Such a lovely little place and very safe for Dogs as each pod is gated with fences, The pod was spotlessly clean
Richard
It was clean and tidy would come back again

We had the most amazing stay ! The owners are so helpful and kind and make you feel so welcome. The property has everything you would need and is so well kept, they really have thought of everything !! We will definitely be returning with our friends to try one of the bigger lodges
This is our second time staying here because we liked it that much
Indiana
Driving down to the property was just amazing
Stayed here for 3 nights for a long relaxing weekend and it was perfect! The pod was so warm and cosy and really clean on arrival! It has everything you need. The hot tub was also clean and warm on arrival. Thank you for a lovely stay and we will definitely be back!
Thankyou for a lovely weekend. Our little pod was amazing, so comfortable, peaceful and clean. You guys have done amazing job. This was our first weekend away together and defiantly would do it again. The walk to the local pub, The Lion was so easy. We would luv to recommend the pub as well for food and friendliness, the staff couldn't of done any more. We felt so welcomed. Thankyou again Salford Court Farm, Kelly and Mark.
We had a lovely 3 night stay. Pod was warm and clean upon arrival as was the hot tub. We had great fun carp fishing off the deck and managed to catch 4 carp between the 2 of us. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning
This pod looked nice at first. Me and my gf was excited when we first arrived, but as time folded we realised it was a disaster!! Would not recommend at all if youre taking pets then kennel shown is not suitable at all as when we got there the kennel was dirty and full of water. I messaged the owners asking if I can bring my vehicle down to the pod as I had a suitable cage that would of been very suitable. But the response I got was not good at all. I was told the kennel is only there to house the dog for a quick break 1 this isnt mentioned in the description, and 2 I wouldnt even house them in there for 10 mins I was told the dog is allowed to sleep in the pod. Which I clearly didnt want with the pod being that small so I responded with the size of my dog, and again they laughed it off responding people normally take two in the pod which I find BS as its very small and because of this we left the pod the same day, not helpful at all, and misleading on the ads regarding the kennel, as if I knew the kennel was made for just a pit stop I wouldnt of book!! Absolutely waste of money. People with pets I would strongly recommend going elsewhere
The most relaxing weekend away Ive ever had
Steven
Lovely little cabin dogs friendly with kennel got left alone didnt see another person the whole time we was there
Michael
Absolutely perfect if you just want to escape from everything. We had a lovely two night stay in the Pod watching the sun set in the evening and watching it rise in the morning over beautiful countryside. The Pod is basic as you would expect but with a good shower. There's a TV and Wifi if you need and the TV had external speakers for good sound and radio. The kitchen facilities were adequate but perhaps could have done with a grid for the grill. The hot tub was excellent and on when we arrived ready to use. The trolley for your luggage was a great touch. There are some beautiful walks around the area and the local village has a lovely little pub. Would definitely recommend.
Everything was perfect! From how peaceful it was to how lovely it was being able to fish such a lovely place with great comfort. Only thing that would be nice is if there was more information on the fishing, but Rob was very helpful once Id contacted him about it.
Brandan
My Gf and I enjoyed a perfect 1st year anniversary here at this pod. We had a blast and I would highly recommend this for a couple thats looking for some privacy to just enjoy each others company. The pod itself and the surrounding areas are not only picturesque but very well maintained I was very surprised by how clean the pod was. The Hot Tub was perfect and clean and is emptied after each visit, it was also preheated and ready to be used on arrival so make sure you have your bubbly of choice in hand the second you get out the car D. A tip for those with heavy luggage there are little carts in the carpark to help wheel your luggage to the pod I would recommend using it as the pod is around a 12 minute walk from the carpark. The only little bit of criticism I have is the postcode provided unless I entered it in wrong on google maps took me to the centre of CliftonUponTeme and not the location of the farm this is the address we used to find our way there,Yeomans J E & Son, Worcester WR6 6EW, In case anyone gets a little lost in the dark like we did. I would like to thank the owners for providing us a lovely break from busy London.
Fantastic stay, hottub was brilliant and the pod was exceptionally clean, warm and cosy. Fishing was also great and the one carp I caught was in brilliant condition Mirror 15 12 lb. The only advise I caught give is it might be beneficial for the wivesgirlfriend to know whether there's a hair dryer supplied. Teacoffee was all there but you must supply everything else, which is absolutely fine. Just handy to know. Would also be nice to know what size the fish go to as it's not stated anywhere obvious. The stay was exceptional, would definitely go back.
Absolutely perfect, I needed a recharge & this was both relaxing & cozy! Somewhere away from everyday life, that felt safe, with beautiful views, a peaceful place to read a good book & the hot tub was just what I needed. Pod was spotlessly clean & didnt feel small, it was very homely & functional, catered for everything I needed. So dog friendly too which was wonderful for my four legged little friend. Would thoughtfully recommend & already have! I will be returning
