Poppy Reviews

Fantastic, clean and staff wonderful.
Just returned from a fabulous stay a very clean and comfortable shepherds hut that had everything you needed great location for local walks and just over an hours drive to the stunning coastline . The hot tub was very relaxing whilst watching the kites and on a clear night the sky was filled with stars A perfect getaway Thankyou
We had a great stay. Great shower. Great location. The outdoor canopy was great with the sun. The dogs enjoyed playing in the garden whilst we enjoyed the views and hot tub. The only thing we struggled with was that it gets very hot in the hut when its sunny. We bought our own fan which I would recommend in summer. We had a fab holiday and would definitely recommend! Thank you, Chloe, Nia, Alfie and Ruby
Myself and my fianc stayed at poppy for 3 nights at the end of March. We had the most amazing weekend and couldnt fault it at all location is perfect for dog walks the site is located within 10 minutes of the elan valley. The shepherds hut itself was clean and cosy the log burner is an excellent feature as well as the hot tub which was clean. We took our 9 month old puppy who had the best time playing in the enclosed garden. The views from the huthot tub were spectacular and were already looking to return in the summer.
We were looking forward to having a break away from it all in complete privacy having seen the photographs and checking on the fencing situation as we have a dog who is over friendly. When we arrived Keith asked a lady by the farm type buildings and machinery where we might find Poppy. She did not engage in any welcoming conversation just told us it was the second one along. The huts are attractive but the view from the back window was awful and a tractor with some sort of scraper was going backwards and forwards scraping rainwater from the ground for quite some time. The photographs are also very misleading, we realised they must have been taken with a fisheye lense as the hut and the garden area were very much smaller and the other huts much closer than we thought. There was a Guests information booklet but this did not give any information about how to use the shower, the heating, the hob or the tv. A Guest book was provided for guests to write their feedback but I found it a little suspicious, considering the above that it was a loose leaf book, with only glowing reviews. Although it was thoughtful to provide a small bottle of milk and coffee, tea and sugar, it would be a good idea to provide condiments and cookingolive oil too. We enjoyed our break due to the places we visited and the views of the hills and sheep but the experience could have been so much better with some friendliness and thoughtfulness from the hosts.
