Lovely short stay. Hut is cosy and filled with everything you would need. Alice and Tom were great hosts. Many thanks.
Absolutely loved our stay for New Years. In a lovely rural setting and private from the working farm. Everything we needed was left for us. Log burner kept us toasty and the hot tub was fantastic. Perfect for exploring the local areas you will find plenty to do. Would highly recommend a stay here
Lovely little hut with all the necessary amenities. Spotlessly clean. Nice little touches such as the prosecco and chocolate brownies, and the bathrobes. Lovely hot tub which was ready for us on arrival. Really peaceful to say how close you are to the farm, and it was brilliant to lay in the hot tub and look up at the stars which you can't do in built up areas.
Katherine
What an amazing place! The property is as fabulous as it looks and the setting has lovely views and is tranquil and peaceful, a real escape. It is beautifully furnished with lots of attention to detail to make it a home from home and really well equipped. Lots of helpful information before the stay and at the hut and the communication with the owner was brilliant, nothing too much trouble. Cant recommend highly enough!
We had a fantastic few days, the hot tub was amazing, just relaxing watching the cows. Having wood and Kindle was a nice touch and both the fire and hot tub lit very easily. My wife really appreciated the welcome surprise of flowers, balloons and of course bubbly. The hut was perfect. Great surrounding pubs for lunch and a great night out in Ashbourne. Thank you Paul Nicholas
Rebecca
Our stay was 1010, if I could rate it more I would! The hot tub was warmed for our arrival, Prosecco and milk chilled in the fridge and homemade brownies all ready for us to indulge in! The location was perfect, I felt safe, nice and private our only neighbours were the cows!. The facilities were amazing from the hot tub to the log burner with plenty of fuel provided for these. The views were incredibly and the bed was SO comfortable. There was plenty of blankets and heaters so you are never cold and the dressing gowns for the hot tub were a nice touch. I would 100 stay here again!

Loved the place, everything was just right. Wish we had a stove or something similar, the air fryer is nice, but not right for cooking everything we wanted. Thank you

We came here for our mini moon and we were not disappointed such a lovely clean place. The hot tub was ready for us to jump straight in and there was a bottle of bubbly cooled in the fridge to toast our relaxing wedding stay. Loved the fact that the cows came to say good morning popping their heads over the fence. Such a peaceful place We will be planning on coming back next year for our anniversary. Thankyou for making our stay so pleasant.
We absolutely loved our stay here, it was perfect. The owners have thought about all the little things we could not fault it. It was so idyllic and relaxing, we came away feeling relaxed and refreshed. Hopefully we will be back soon

A very relaxing and beautiful location . Would definitely recommend.
Absolute little gem of a find for us. We wanted something different for our 20th wedding anniversary to the bog standard hotel and this didnt disappoint. The little homely touches from fresh milk and Prosecco chilled in the fridge on arrival to the bathrobes. The views whether sat in the super comfy outdoor chairs or in the hot tub on a morningevening were stunning, with only the sound of the farm animals and birds was very relaxing. We will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our stay and found the hut to be lovely, very comfortable and overall an enjoyable place to stay, the owners were lovely people and were very helpful.
Kelsey
The shepherd hut and hot tub was absolutely stunning. We had the best stay. I would love to go back one day. All the little homely touches in the hut were just stunning.
Brooklyn
Highly recommend. We had a fantastic relaxed stay. Don't hesitate in booking!
From the moment of our arrival, it was beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. Everything was as described, and even better than we imagined. Tucked away at the top of the farm, a totally private getaway. Opening the door to a surprise was a special touch couple of delicious brownies and a bottle of bubbles. Alice and Tom go beyond being wonderful hosts, theyre extremely helpful and nothing was too much at any time. Stunning views from the hut and hot tub and both of which were immaculate, clean and cosy. Currently starting to write this review at 630am on the morning we are leaving after being woken by the wildlife a very persistent pheasant who wants to get into the hot tub! We cant blame him, its a lovely place to sit and soak up the beauty surrounding it even better with Storm Kathleen whipping around us. Not that we minded the wake up call at all its lovely to be so close to nature and very amusing no matter what the time. Even in the midst of a storm, we slept peacefully and deeply on both nights. Cooking was easy enough, but a must do for every visitor is definitely a meal at the holly bush a short drive away. We will certainly be back as someone whos partner likes to travel and not particularly visit the same place over and over, this was that special its definitely somewhere we will come back to again and again. We have recommended several friends to come visit here because of how incredible it is. We will be back to this little bit of paradise soon. Thank you again Alice & Tom, you guys have created something very special and totally nailed being fantastic hosts. J&M

The wood fired hot tub was a Labour of love but, when it was up to temperature it was great. Overall, loved our stay the bed was super comfortable and everything was clean with blankets and heaters if needed would stay again!!

The hut was beautiful, we had made early requests which were all fulfilled perfectly, the hut wasnt cold at all with the fire, the hot tub was prefect. Couldnt fault anything & would definitely stay again if the chance came about.

We had a mid week break at this beautiful hut. We had a welcome gift of bubbles and brownies which were delicious, the hot tub was prewarmed. We could not fault the facilities or the location. The hut has everything you would need. We stayed at one of the coldest weeks and the hut was kept cosy and warm with an electric radiator and log burner. Thank you Alice and Tom
Olivia
We had an absolutely amazing time at our stay in the shepherds hut. It was so cosy and really well equipped! Alice and Tom were absolutely fantastic hosts especially when we got a bit of car trouble with all the flooding, they were so informative and always on hand if we needed them! Me and my partner stayed here and it was the perfect little getaway. We stayed for 3 nights and it was all perfect. the owners are so lovley and if we needed anything they were there at all times to help. They had everything we needed when we got there plus more! Had little treats for us upon arrival. Will 100 be returning to this place as we just loved it! Felt like we were a million miles away from anything but everything we needed was in distance and again, they helped us anytime we needed them. 100 recommended!!!
Virginia
Alice and Tom were fantastic hosts. The hut provided all that we required and more. They even stoked the hot tub fire for our arrival such a lovely touch. The area is very secluded with neighbouring sheep, squirrels and pheasants for company not to mention being serenaded by a cow or owl or two each evening! We enjoyed the hot showers and cozy fires after some beautifully brisk autumn walks and felt totally spoilt and peaceful amongst their little patch of paradise.
Maddie
High Grounds Shepards Hut was the perfect little getaway to wind down from busy city life. It was a lovely little hut that was cosy, clean and homely! The hot tub made it perfect to relax in the sunny crisp air with a glass of Prosecco while taking in all the wildlife and scenic views around! The owners Alice and Tom were lovely and very happy to help with any queries or questions about our stay and made us feel very welcomed. There was a guide within the hut that told you about the hut and everything you needed to know as well as some recommendations for tasty food and drink around, we took a walk to The Horseshoes for Sunday dinner and it did not disappoint!! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!! It is the most perfect little staycation away for a couple! Thanks Alice and Tom!
